By the afternoon of August 6th, 2016, Nanki and Doug’s spirits were high. They’d been married for whole hours now. Formal obligations were out of the way, and the fun could commence.
Donning eveningwear, the couple wandered the back paths at the Evergreen Brickworks, chased by cameras. Friends and family arrived and were awed by the spectacle put on in their honour. It was they who had supported Nanki and Doug throughout their lives, and this party would be a celebration not just of the love between them, but of the love given by those around them.
